This organization helps to make it easier to lower energy bills and improve the comfort levels of a home, as well as its overall value and appeal. The Energy Impact Illinois (EI2) program connects homeowners in the area with trusted energy advocates to help with identifying areas of energy loss in the home, and the most cost-effective way to go about taking care of the problem(s) once and for all. More than 4,000 homes have participated in the program, with an average saving of nearly $400 on annual bills.
Owners of single-family homes, individually-metered condos, apartments, and townhomes can get rebates from doing a wide variety of energy-saving improvements in their homes. This includes the installation of furnaces, air conditioners, insulation, and more. To qualify for a rebate or incentive, new equipment must be installed, and old equipment must be removed from the home. Only new products will meet the energy-efficiency specs required by the residential application to qualify. Rebates cannot exceed the cost of the project.
